Model Write-Up #4 - Kheela the Night Elf Paladin

"Shareel was a Night Elf. By her racial tradition, she should be skulking in shadows, taking potshots at foes without them ever really knowing from where they are being impaled by arrow. This was the way of Shareel's mother, of her mother's mother and father, and of virtually every descendant along that family line. Most of the descendants on her father's side also served as rangers, bowmen, and assassins - but not her father himself. He fought by the sword, out in the open, as a servant of the Light - a Paladin. He did not have the same apathy towards the outside world as most of his kin - instead, he would make frequent journeys to distant lands, using his devotion to his faith as his driving force to do good and make a difference. For this, he was shunned - he acted as the humans did, fighting out in the open, brash and full of perceived arrogance. Even his own wife left him for the stigma he brought upon their family, and sought to take their daughter with her. Shareel, however, would have none of it. She idolised her father - his brave clash with the status quo inspiring her to follow suit. She was instructed that such a path would be difficult, and would be rife with hardship. She did not care. Through her years of training, she honed her body and mind, treading paths less travelled and following in the footsteps of her father in becoming one of the Paladins. When her father was killed by a raving band of Satyr, she unleashed her righteous fury upon them, and at last, connected with the Light on a level she had sought for years. From that day forward, she forsook her old name, and took the name "Kheela" - the feminine form of her father's name, Kheeli. She may have been a Night Elf - but instead of the darkness as her weapon, she would wield the Light."
