"The galaxy after Order 66 was a lawless place, full of criminals and villainy. It had always been there, of course - even in the golden days of the Republic, the Outer Rim territories had always been out of the jurisdiction of peacekeeping forces. The Empire cared about removing rebellion, but crime rates soared as smugglers, slavers, and bounty hunters were all employed by the Empire for malevolent means. CT-1887 had been an astute trooper, and his compatriots had said that if he had been luckier, he'd have been in the navy. Nicknamed "Holmes" after a popular fictional character in a Couruscant Opera House performance, CT-1887 put his skills to good use in the lawless galaxy post-Order 66. He had seen a holovid once of men in trench-coats and detective hats toting primitive slug-throwing weapons, shutting down crime with one-liners and inevitable justice. He had not been a part of any force which hunted Jedi, and he could see the evil of it from the outside perspective as a result. Thus, he used his skills of deduction to track down undercover Jedi and aid them in their attempts to evade Darth Vader and the Empire. He had his first run-in with them through a bounty hunter named Mori'akatus, a Trandoshan with almost poetic speech. In the shoot-out, he wounded but failed to kill the Trandoshan, who warned "Holmes" he would be back. The trooper acknowledged his enemy was not to be trifled with, and sought out partners to aid him in his cause. Across the years, he witnessed the fall of the Empire and the rise of the First Order. The time didn't bother him. So long as he had six bullets in his revolver and a case to work, that was motivation enough to keep fighting the good fight. His partners felt the same, and his group became renowned in Outer Rim slums for delivering justice upon muggers and crime lords."
