(David - A friend of mine wanted to write the biography for one of the characters. He's from Romania, and his name is Vlad Draghici. Besides some minor grammar fixes, this is his piece. He may feature on here again from time to time.)

"Karik Sabin had no clan. He was raised a slave, for the amusement of the rich who paid good credits to see pure-blooded Mandalorians fight. He received the mark…as did all other fighters. The symbol of Krybes was supposed to be worn with honour. But not by him. He was branded. His master’s cruelty was intolerable…And so, he sought a way out. The Arena was that way out - One-hundred Mandalorian lives was the price for freedom. 'Fight! Kill! Salute!', ordered the Lords of the Arena, and so he did. Sabin fought, killed and saluted. Karik was unstoppable. And the day of his final fight had come at last. One last kill and it was over - he would be free! He received no weapon. So he bit and clawed his way to victory. The arena cheered for him, soaked in blood as he was. His mouth filled with his kin’s blood. One-hundred lives. Karik Sabin had earned his reward, the same all champions before him had…buried beneath the Arena. The promise of freedom…nothing but a lie. Karik cracked - no more would he endure the oppression of the rich. Sabin would be chained no longer. He bit his way to freedom once again, out of the chain that was holding him. An arm was a small price to pay now. He stood up, yelling above the cries of the spectators to the other Mandalorians captive with him and commanded, ”Take your vengeance!” And so they did. The Mandalorians fought, killed and saluted…for Sabin, the man who gave them their freedom. Blinded by vengeance, their name would be spoken in fear. This was the birth of Clan Sabin, and the rebirth of Karik Sabin.

From then on, Karik led his Clan to numerous victories across the Outer Rim territories against petty pirates. When they established their force using Separatist technology, they became one of the major Mandalorian clans in the galaxy. Through their struggles, Karik never forgot the pain of the past - his lost arm was a constant reminder. He attended Mandalore the Crusader's call not for want of tradition, but because he believes that only through conflict do their people stand a chance of regaining their former glory. A galaxy without war would stagnate, and so he sought to propagate fighting however he could, in the ways he had been taught by the Arena. When the hyperspace malfunction occurred, Karik abandoned the Crusader and joined the upstart Mandalore the Infernal - a man who seemed more prepared to face oncoming conflict than the Crusader. Karik stands beside him, and so do his clan."
