(Written with help from my friend, Vlad Draghici.)
Tannus Dragorian hailed from the world of Hoven in the Inner Rim territories. Being so close to the main territory of the Empire meant that the planet was extremely wealthy, being a bustling centre of trade and business, and was a significant stop on the road for any traders working for the Empire. Tannus' family moved to the planet from the Outer Rim territories 2500 years ago, with the intent on finding a new path separate from the stereotypical bounty hunting associated with the rest of their people. This initial line of Dragorians created a strong tradition of lineage and pride in their nobility - they were extremely wealthy, but not exploitative, and were, in fact, widely respected in diplomatic circles for being honourable and maintaining not only their own customs, but respecting others' as well. Thus, Tannus was brought up with this sense of tradition and deference - he was very polite, and extremely obedient to his mother and father. His father, Dacharus, wore ancient Mandalorian armour to ceremonies and balls, passed down through the generations from the very first Dragorian to arrive on Hoven. Each etching, mark, and inscription was set by the Dragorian who inherited the armour - an ever-present testament to their achievement. It was customary for the son of the father - or whomever the next eligible receiver was - to perform a Rite of Honour, whereby the son would, for a short while, return to their roots as a Mandalorian; whatever they accomplished, it had to be done with honour, pride, and with respect to their heritage. Tannus came of the age at which his father would usually pass down the armour, and he had yet to prove himself. His male cousin, Likos, was much more favoured by the family and it was thought he would be the most likely to receive the armour instead. This outraged Tannus, as willingly choosing someone other than the available son was a break from tradition that had never happened in the family. In a fit of envious rage, Tannus stole the armour and made away with it, disappearing into the Outer Rim. His family openly ostracised him, disowning him. He was still red with anger, and did not realise the implications of his actions. Before he had time to truly contemplate them, Mandalore the Crusader's call to arms was sent out across the galaxy, and Tannus joined him in order to prove his family wrong. When the hyperspace malfunction occurred and the Mandalorians were stranded in the Unknown Regions, Tannus began to panic about losing his family's armour there, and quickly sought out Nidas Fett, who was focusing all of his resources on attempting to return home. Nidas understood Tannus' wish for redemption, and took him under his personal tutelage, sensing potential in the young man. Tannus now serves as Nidas' student, and has been by his side for much of the events in the Civil War."
