"The Victus Clan was the most respected and the largest of the Mandalorian clans. They held the most influence, land, and resources, and were the second oldest - their first leader, Jirail Victus, had formed his clan around a decade after Trakus Gaza had formed his, some two and a half thousand years ago. Jirail was a man who had suffered excessively in his life - he was beaten by his father, forced to watch as his mother was murdered by him, and then was forced to kill his father when it was either him or Jirail. Despite all this, Jirail never cracked, and stood resolute. His father had never permitted him to know his ancestry, but once he learned of his origins as a Mandalorian, he chose a new name - Victus - and set out to make his new name known throughout the galaxy. He formed Victus with a handful of supporters, and within a few years it grew to eclipse most other clans at the time. The non-aggression pact with Gaza Clan helped establish their prominence, and they eventually overtook Gaza Clan as the strongest, but never forgot their smaller brother clan. Around twenty five years before the Battle of Yavin, in the waning days of the Galactic Republic, Maladan Victus took control of the clan from his mother, who died in battle against a rogue Jedi. This meant that, by the time Mandalore the Crusader sent out his call to arms, Maladan was already one of the most respected individuals in Mandalorian politics. Victus Clan had played a substantial role in the final days of the Galactic Republic - their leader at the time, Sirilia Victus, made her debut as one of the only female Clan Leaders in Victus' history by successfully staving off a Separatist assault on the Victus Clan's stronghold. She declined support from the Galactic Republic in rebuilding, and flexed Victus Clan's considerable economic influence by requisitioning several Vengeance-class frigates and a Keldabe-class battleship to keep the space around the Victus Clan stronghold secure. Neither the Separatists nor Galactic Republic made any attempts at the region from that point forwards - it was not worth the losses that would be suffered. Maladan inherited these vessels, and, foreseeing that tremendous political upheaval was nigh, recalled all members of Victus Clan to their stronghold world. No less than 250,000 combined troops, Mandalorians, mercenaries, and other occupations working for Victus Clan answered, and every citizen that could make the journey also attended. Victus Clan suddenly had to accommodate some three million people in a city designed for around five hundred thousand. Despite the setback, provisions were made, and when the Galactic Republic collapsed and the Empire began conquering more worlds, the Victus Clan forces came together with Gaza Clan to establish a strong wall against which the Empire's ships would have to beat again and again if they were to succeed. To their collective surprise, the Empire did not attack, and sent a public communique saying they could keep their territories for now. There was the strong implication that they would attack eventually, and so Gaza and Victus maintained their defences. When Mandalore the Crusader called for allies to support his crusade, Victus attended and declared their loyalty - seeing the Crusader as a strong figure who could bring about change in the wider galaxy, and re-establish Mandalorian superiority. When the Hyperspace Malfunction occurred, Victus Clan stood by their duty and refused to abandon the Crusader, gaining worse relations with Gaza as a result. They are currently rebuilding and re-consolidating their forces in preparation for armed conflict on multiple sides..."
